Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold shares worth a net Rs 833.95 crore yesterday, 17 June 2015, higher than net sales of Rs 490.92 crore during the preceding trading session on 16 June 2015.
The net outflow of Rs 833.95 crore on 17 June 2015 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4211.56 crore and gross sales of Rs 5045.51 crore. There was a net outflow of Rs 835.27 crore from the secondary equity market on 17 June 2015 which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4210.24 crore and gross sales of Rs 5045.51 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex rose 146.15 points or 0.55% to settle at 26,832.66, its highest closing level since 10 June 2015.
There was an inflow of Rs 1.32 crore into the category 'primary market & others' on 17 June 2015.
