New 10-year G-sec Paper yield closes at 7.85%
The yield on 10-year benchmark federal paper, 8.40% GS 2024, eased by
05 basis points (bps) to close at 8.03% compared with 8.08% close in the
previous trading session and the new 10-year benchmark federal paper,
7.72% GS 2025, yield also eased by 03 bps to end at 7.85%, compared with
7.88% close in the previous trading session. The total trading volume
on central bank's gilts trading platform stood at Rs 38,795 crore.
Bond yields eased as traders increased buying attracted by high yields and on easing concerns over weak monsoons.
The weighted average rate in the overnight call money increased slightly
to 6.98% compared with 6.96% in previous session. The call money rate
hovered in the range of 5.75% to 7.30% with the volume of Rs 9474.64
crore.
