Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold shares worth a net Rs 585.85 crore yesterday, 15 June 2015, compared with net purchases of Rs 534.23 crore during the preceding trading session on 12 June 2015.
The net outflow of Rs 585.85 crore on 15 June 2015 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3026.31 crore and gross sales of Rs 3612.16 crore. There was a net outflow of Rs 585.86 crore from the secondary equity market on 15 June 2015 which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3026.28 crore and gross sales of Rs 3612.14 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex rose 161.25 points or 0.61% to settle at 26,586.55, its highest closing since 10 June 2015.
There was an inflow of Rs 0.01 crore into the category 'primary market & others' on 15 June 2015.
