Inflow of Rs 234.80 crore on 1 April 2009
Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 234.80 crore on Wednesday, 1 April 2009, as against an outflow of Rs 531.40 crore on Tuesday, 31 March 2009.
FII inflow of Rs 234.80 crore on 1 April 2009 was a result of gross purchases Rs 1695.20 crore and gross sales Rs 1460.40 crore. The BSE Sensex gained 193.49 points, or 1.99%, to 9,901.99 on that day.
FII outflow in calendar year 2009 totaled Rs 6436.80 crore (till 1 April 2009).
There are a total of 1635 foreign funds registered with the Securities & Exchange Board of India (Sebi).
