UTI Mutual Fund has been decided to merge the UTI Index Select Fund into UTI Mastergrowth Unit scheme. An option is hereby given to the unit holders of the above schemes to redeem their units at the prevalent NAV without any exit load during 21 April 2009 to 20 May 2009 (both days inclusive). No action is required if the unit holder is agreeable to continue in the merged scheme. And the book closure period is from 21 May 2009 to 25 May 2009.
Change in Fundamental Attributes of UTI- Mastergrowth Unit Scheme:
UTI Mutual fund has announced the change in fundamental attributes of UTI- Mastergrowth Unit Scheme, with effect from 20 May 2009. The name of the scheme will be changed and will be named as UTI Top 100 Fund.
The Fundamental Attributes are:
Investment objective: The fund aims to provide long term capital appreciation/dividend distribution by investing predominantly in equity and equity related instruments of top 100 stocks by market capitalization.
Asset Allocation: The scheme will invest upto 65%-100% in equity and equity related instruments of top 100 stocks by market capitalization and upto 35% in other equity or equity related instruments. The scheme also invests upto 35% in debt and money market instruments including securitised debt.
The fund may invest upto 100% of its debt portfolio in securitised debt.
Investment Strategy: The investment strategy of primarily restricting the equity portfolio of the Top 100 Indian companies is intended to reduce risks while maintaining steady growth. The scheme is designed for those investors who seek exposure to a large market capitalization stocks and growth cum value style of investing. The fund shall invest at least 65% of its corpus in equity and equity related securities of top 100 Indian companies as measured by market capitalization on BSE (stock market worth) and listed on BSE. Risk will also be reduced through a diversification of the portfolio. The remaining portion of the portfolio will be invested in attractive growth prospects and potential to outperform the board market indices.
