Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 1.70 crore on Wednesday, 22 April 2009, as against an outflow of Rs 62.70 crore on Tuesday, 21 April 2009.
FII inflow of Rs 1.70 crore on 22 April 2009 was a result of gross purchases Rs 1424.50 crore and gross sales Rs 1422.80 crore. The BSE Sensex lost 80.57 points or 0.74% to 10,817.54 on that day.
FII inflow in April 2009 totaled Rs 4548.70 crore (till 22 April 2009). FII outflow in calendar year 2009 totaled Rs 2,122.90 crore (till 22 April 2009).
There are a total of 1639 foreign funds registered with the Securities & Exchange Board of India (Sebi).
