Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 772.20 crore on Wednesday, 15 April 2009, higher than Rs 641.80 crore on Monday, 13 April 2009.
FII inflow of Rs 772.20 crore on 15 April 2009 was a result of gross purchases Rs 4062.60 crore and gross sales Rs 3290.40 crore. The BSE Sensex surged 317.51 points or 2.90% to 11,284.73 on that day.
FII inflow in April 2009 totaled Rs 3,092.20 crore (till 15 April 2009). FII outflow in calendar year 2009 totaled Rs 3,579.50 crore (till 15 April 2009).
There are a total of 1639 foreign funds registered with the Securities & Exchange Board of India (Sebi).
