Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 4085.20 crore on Wednesday, 13 May 2009. They are net buyers in all the nine sessions in this month so far.
FII inflow of Rs 4085.20 crore on 13 May 2009 was a result of gross purchases Rs 6033.10 crore and gross sales Rs 1947.90 crore. The BSE 30-share Sensex lost 138.38 points or 1.14% to 12,019.65 on that day
FII inflow in May 2009 totaled Rs 9616.10 crore (till 13 May 2009) while their inflow in calendar year 2009 totaled Rs 9972.70 crore.
There are a total of 1650 foreign funds registered with the Securities & Exchange Board of India (Sebi).
