Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) offloaded shares worth a net Rs 84.75 crore yesterday, 23 April 2015, which was lower than their outflow of Rs 853.18 crore during the preceding trading session on 22 April 2015.
The net outflow of Rs 84.75 crore on 23 April 2015 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 5100.71 crore and gross sales of Rs 5185.46 crore. There was a net outflow of Rs 281.67 crore from the secondary equity market on 23 April 2015, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4902.29 crore and gross sales of Rs 5183.96 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex had shed 155.11 points or 0.56% to settle at 27,735.02 on that day, its lowest closing level since 21 April 2015.
There was a net inflow of Rs 196.92 crore into the category 'primary market & others' on 23 April 2015, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 198.42 crore and gross sales of Rs 1.50 crore.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 16316 crore in this month so far (till 23 April 2015). They have bought shares worth a net Rs 15968.93 crore from the secondary equity markets in this month so far (till 23 April 2015). FPIs had bought shares worth a net Rs 12078.12 crore last month. They had bought shares worth a net Rs 10155.09 crore from the secondary markets last month.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 52788.80 crore in calendar year 2015 so far (till 23 April 2015). They have bought shares worth a net Rs 44732.80 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2015 so far (till 23 April 2015). FPIs had bought shares worth a net Rs 97055.90 crore in the calendar year 2014. They had bought shares worth a net Rs 84440.80 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2014.
