Mutual funds bought shares worth Rs 2136.10 crore yesterday, 21 April 2015, which was higher than their purchases of Rs 323.20 crore during the preceding trading session on 20 April 2015.
The net inflow of Rs 2136.10 crore on 21 April 2015 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 2893 crore and gross sales of Rs 756.90 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex had lost 210.17 points or 0.75% to settle at 27,676.04 on that day, its lowest closing level since 27 March 2015.
Mutual funds have purchased shares worth a net Rs 3064.90 crore in this month so far (till 21 April 2015). They had bought shares worth a net Rs 3940.30 crore last month.
