Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold shares worth a net Rs 211.27 crore on Thursday, 16 April 2015, compared with their outflow of Rs 110.90 crore during the preceding trading session on Wednesday, 15 April 2015.
The net outflow of Rs 211.27 crore on 16 April 2015 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4363.19 crore and gross sales of Rs 4574.46 crore. There was a net outflow of Rs 214.47 crore into the secondary equity market on 16 April 2015, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4359.98 crore and gross sales of Rs 4574.45 crore. On that day, the S&P BSE Sensex fell 133.65 points or 0.46% to settle at 28,666.04, its lowest closing level since 7 April 2015.
There was an inflow of Rs 3.20 crore from the category 'primary market & others' on 16 April 2015, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3.21 crore and gross sales of Rs 0.01 crore.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 2983.77 crore in this month so far (till 16 April 2015).
