Mutual funds bought shares worth Rs 54.20 crore yesterday, 9 April 2015, which was lower compared with their purchases of Rs 304.30 crore during the preceding trading session on 8 April 2015.
The net inflow of Rs 54.20 crore on 9 April 2015 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 887.70 crore and gross sales of Rs 833.50 crore. On that day, the S&P BSE Sensex had risen 177.46 points or 0.62% to settle at 28,885.21.
Mutual funds have purchased shares worth a net Rs 59.80 crore in this month so far (till 9 April 2015). They had bought shares worth a net Rs 3940.30 crore last month.
