Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 455.40 crore on Friday, 10 April 2015, compared with their inflow of Rs 239.29 crore during the preceding trading session on Thursday, 9 April 2015.
The net inflow of Rs 455.40 crore on 10 April 2015 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4904.60 crore and gross sales of Rs 4449.20 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 379.86 crore into the secondary equity market on 10 April 2015, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4829.03 crore and gross sales of Rs 4449.17 crore. On that day, the S&P BSE Sensex fell 5.83 points or 0.02% to settle at 28,879.38, its lowest closing level since 8 April 2015.
There was an inflow of Rs 75.54 crore from the category 'primary market & others' on 10 April 2015, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 75.57 crore and gross sales of Rs 0.03 crore.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 2847.22 crore in this month so far (till 10 April 2015).
