Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 1146.43 crore during two trading sessions on 31 March 2015 and 1 April 2015. The stock market was closed on 2 April and 3 April 2015 on account of holidays.
The two-day net inflow of Rs 1146.43 crore on 31 March 2015 and 1 April 2015 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 9640.46 crore and gross sales of Rs 8494.03 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 834.65 crore into the secondary equity market during two trading sessions on 31 March and 1 April 2015, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 9286.69 crore and gross sales of Rs 8452.04 crore.
There was a net inflow of Rs 311.78 crore into the category 'primary market & others' during two trading sessions on 31 March and on 1 April 2015, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 353.77 crore and gross sales of Rs 41.99 crore.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 37619.40 crore in calendar year 2015 so far (till 1 April 2015). They have bought shares worth a net Rs 29598.50 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2015 so far (till 1 April 2015). FPIs had bought shares worth a net Rs 97055.90 crore in the calendar year 2014. They had bought shares worth a net Rs 84440.80 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2014.
