Mutual funds in selling mode

Sales worth Rs 275.80 crore on 7 August 2009

Mutual funds (MFs) sold shares worth a net Rs 275.80 crore on Friday, 7 August 2009, as against an inflow of Rs 21.20 crore on Thursday, 6 August 2009.

MFs' net outflow of Rs 275.80 crore on 7 August 2009 was a result of gross purchases Rs 756.40 crore and gross sales Rs 1032.20 crore. The BSE Sensex lost 353.79 points or 2.28% to 15,160.24 on that day.

MFs sold shares worth a net Rs 296.50 in August 2009 (till 7 August 2009). MFs had bought shares worth a net Rs 1825.50 crore in July 2009.
