Mutual funds in selling mode

Sales worth Rs 284.90 crore on 22 July 2009

Mutual funds (MFs) sold shares worth a net Rs 284.90 crore on Wednesday, 22 July 2009, as against an inflow of Rs 104.50 crore on Tuesday, 21 July 2009.

MFs' net outflow of Rs 284.90 crore on 22 July 2009 was a result of gross purchases Rs 982.20 crore and gross sales Rs 1,267.10 crore. The BSE Sensex lost 219.37 points or 1.46% at 14,843.12 on that day.

MFs bought shares worth a net Rs 1,407.20 crore in July 2009 (till 22 July 2009). Mutual funds had bought stocks worth Rs 839.30 crore in June 2009.
