Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 1050.70 crore on Friday, 24 July 2009, higher than Rs 709.90 crore on Thursday, 23 July 2009.
FII inflow of Rs 1050.70 crore on 24 July 2009 was a result of gross purchases Rs 3263.90 crore and gross sales Rs 2213.20 crore. The BSE Sensex rose 147.92 points or 0.97% to 15,378.96 on that day.
FII inflow in July 2009 totaled Rs 8,330.20 crore (till 24 July 2009). FIIs had bought stocks worth a net Rs 3,224.90 crore in June 2009. FII inflow in calendar year 2009 totaled Rs 32,874.40 crore (till 24 July 2009).
There are a total of 1678 foreign funds registered with the Securities & Exchange Board of India (Sebi).
