FII selling slows down

Outflow of Rs 26.10 crore on 19 June 2009

Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold shares worth a net Rs 26.10 crore on Friday, 19 June 2009, much lower than Rs 515.90 crore on Thursday, 18 June 2009.

FII outflow of Rs 26.10 crore on 19 June 2009 was a result of gross purchases Rs 1894.40 crore and gross sales Rs 1920.50 crore. The BSE Sensex rose 256.36 points or 1.8% to 14,521.89 on that day.

FII inflow in June 2009 totaled Rs 4,420.40 crore (till 19 June 2009). FII inflow in calendar year 2009 totaled Rs 25,739.80 crore (till 19 June 2009).

There are a total of 1667 foreign funds registered with the Securities & Exchange Board of India (Sebi).
