Mutual fund industry has witnessed an impressive growth in its Average Asset Under management (AUM) in May 2009 compared with April 2009. Association of Mutual Fund of India (AMFI) has released AUM data for May 2009. Till now the data is available for 15 fund houses. The AUM soared by 17.65% to Rs 2.06 lakh crore in May 2009 compared with Rs 1.75 lakh crore in April 2009.
Baroda Pioneer Mutual Fund has topped among others by recording AUM growth of 85.09% to Rs 3483.4 crore in May 2009. J P Morgan Mutual Fund followed it by posting a rise of 42.46% in its AUM.
As per asset wise, Reliance Mutual fund continued to be in the first position to Rs 1,02,730.16 crore in its AUM in May 2009 compared with the month of April 2009. Its AUM has zoomed by 16.23% in May 2009 over April 2009. IDFC MF hold second position with the average AUM of Rs 20139.13 crore a rise of 25.65% compared with the month of April 2009 and DSP BlackRock MF with an AUM of Rs 17096.64 crore with a rise of 7.22% in March 2009 over February 2009.
The other top mutual funds, in terms of AUM included Deutsche MF recording a rise of 15.03% to Rs 12780.49 crore in May 2009. HSBC MF has recorded a growth of 5.28% in its AUM to Rs 9813.45 crore and Religare MF also moved up by 27.71% to Rs 9289.57 crore.
Reliance Mutual Fund recorded the highest inflow in AUM of Rs 14342.17 crore, IDFC MF recorded inflow of Rs 4111.19 crore in May 2009.
