FIIs in buying mode

Inflow of Rs 191.40 crore on 13 March 2009

Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) purchased shares worth a net Rs 191.40 crore on Friday, 13 March 2009, as against an outflow of Rs 99.30 crore on Thursday, 12 March 2009.

FII inflow of Rs 191.40 crore on 13 March 2009 was a result of gross purchases Rs 2105 and gross sales Rs 1913.60 crore. The BSE Sensex jumped 412.86 points, or 4.95%, to 8,756.61 on that day.

FII outflow in March 2009 totaled Rs 2084.80 crore (till 13 March 2009). FII outflow in calendar year 2009 totaled Rs 9025.80 crore (till 13 March 2009).

There are a total of 1626 foreign funds registered with the Securities & Exchange Board of India (Sebi).
