Bond yields ease, CPI inflation data eyed

10-year G-sec Paper yield declines at 8.18%

The yield on 10-year benchmark federal paper, 8.40% GS 2024, eased 1 basis to 8.18% at 10.59 IST, compared to 8.19% at close in the previous trading session. 

The total trading volume on the central bank's gilts trading platform stood at Rs 10035 crore. 

Bond yields eased slightly in the early trading, while the traders were awaiting the key economic data on CPI inflation and industrial production scheduled to be released today. 

The weighted average rate in the overnight call money rose to 8.54% at 11.00 IST compared to 8.17% in the previous session. The call money rate was hovering in the range of 8.4% to 8.6% with the volume at Rs 2171.5 crore.
