Bond yields ease on lower oil prices

10-year G-sec Paper yield declined to 8.21% 

The yield on 10-year benchmark federal paper, 8.40% GS 2024, eased 01 basis point to 8.21% at 11.33 IST, compared to 8.22% at close in the previous trading session. 

The total trading volume on the central bank's gilts trading platform stood at Rs 10285 crore. 

Bond yields eased in the early trading as sentiments were supported by decline in global crude oil prices. However, the traders were awaiting the key economic data on WPI inflation scheduled to be released today. 

The weighted average rate in the overnight call money rose to 8% at 11.34 IST compared to 7.88% in the previous session. The call money rate was hovering in the range of 7.9% to 8.05% with the volume at Rs 7211 crore
