Mutual funds turn sellers

Net outflow of Rs 283.70 crore on 9 September 2014

Mutual funds sold shares worth a net Rs 283.70 crore on Tuesday, 9 September 2014, compared with inflow of Rs 73.20 crore on Monday, 8 September 2014. 

The net outflow of Rs 283.70 crore on 9 September 2014 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 493.90 crore and gross sales of Rs 777.60 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex shed 54.53 points or 0.2% to settle at 27,265.32 on that day, its lowest closing level since 5 September 2014. 

Mutual funds have sold shares worth a net Rs 335 crore in this month so far (till 9 September 2014). Mutual funds bought stocks worth Rs 6957.40 crore last month.
