Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold shares worth net Rs 416.26 crore on Thursday, 25 September 2014, compared with outflow of Rs 689.07 crore on Wednesday, 24 September 2014.
The net outflow of Rs 416.26 crore on 25 September 2014 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 5369.40 crore and gross sales of Rs 5785.66 crore. There was a net outflow of Rs 416.03 crore from the secondary equity market on 25 September 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 5369.22 crore and gross sales of Rs 5785.25 crore. The Sensex had shed 276.33 points or 1.03% to settle at 26,468.36 on that day, its lowest closing level since 26 August 2014.
There was a net outflow of Rs 0.23 crore from the category 'primary market & others' on 25 September 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 0.18 crore and gross sales of Rs 0.41 crore.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 5116.87 crore in this month so far (till 25 September 2014). They have bought shares worth a net Rs 4174.07 crore from the secondary equity markets in this month so far.
FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 5429.76 crore in August 2014. They bought shares worth a net Rs 3101.70 crore from the secondary equity markets in that month.
