Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold shares worth a net Rs 223.40 crore on Tuesday, 27 May 2014, higher than net outflow of Rs 24.70 crore on Monday, 26 May 2014.
The net outflow of Rs 223.40 crore on Tuesday, 27 May 2014, was a result of gross purchases of Rs 5112.20 crore and gross sales of Rs 5335.60 crore. There was a net outflow of Rs 235.20 crore from the secondary equity market on Tuesday, 27 May 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 5065 crore and gross sales of Rs 5300.20 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex had shed 167.37 points or 0.68% to settle at 24,549.51 on that day, its lowest closing level since 22 May 2014.
There was a net inflow of Rs 11.80 crore into the category 'primary market & others' on Tuesday, 27 May 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 47.20 crore and gross sales of Rs 35.40 crore.
FIIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 14490.50 crore in this month so far (till 27 May 2014). FIIs purchased shares worth a net Rs 9602.40 crore in April 2014.
