Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold shares worth a net Rs 24.70 crore on Monday, 26 May 2014, compared with net inflow of Rs 514.60 crore on Friday, 23 May 2014.
The net outflow of Rs 24.70 crore on Monday, 26 May 2014, was a result of gross purchases of Rs 5701.30 crore and gross sales of Rs 5726.10 crore. There was a net outflow of Rs 15.80 crore from the secondary equity market on Monday, 26 May 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 5699.90 crore and gross sales of Rs 5715.70 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex garnered 23.53 points or 0.1% to settle at 24,716.88 on that day, a record closing high for the barometer index.
There was a net outflow of Rs 8.90 crore from the category 'primary market & others' on Monday, 26 May 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 1.50 crore and gross sales of Rs 10.40 crore.
