Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold shares worth a net Rs 112.90 crore on Thursday, 22 May 2014, compared with net outflow of Rs 216.50 crore on Wednesday, 21 May 2014.
The net outflow of Rs 112.90 crore on Thursday, 22 May 2014, was a result of gross purchases of Rs 6607.80 crore and gross sales of Rs 6720.70 crore. There was a net outflow of Rs 127.40 crore from the secondary equity market on Thursday, 22 May 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 6590.40 crore and gross sales of Rs 6717.90 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex had garnered 76.38 points or 0.31% to settle at 24,374.40 on that day, its highest closing level since 20 May 2014.
There was a net inflow of Rs 14.60 crore into the category 'primary market & others' on Thursday, 22 May 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 17.30 crore and gross sales of Rs 2.80 crore.
FIIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 14224 crore in this month so far (till 22 May 2014). FIIs purchased shares worth a net Rs 9602.40 crore in April 2014.
