Massive inflow of Rs 2,798.60 crore on 7 July 2009
Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 2,798.60 crore on Tuesday, 7 July 2009, as against an outflow of Rs 351.40 crore on Monday, 6 July 2009.
FII inflow of Rs 2,798.60 crore on 7 July 2009 was a result of gross purchases Rs 5,956.70 crore and gross sales Rs 3,158.10 crore. The BSE Sensex rose 127.05 points or 0.9% to 14,170.45 on that day.
FII inflow in July 2009 totaled Rs 3,581.20 crore (till 7 July 2009). FII inflow in calendar year 2009 totaled Rs 28,125.40 crore (till 7 July 2009).
There are a total of 1674 foreign funds registered with the Securities & Exchange Board of India (Sebi).
