Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold shares worth a net Rs 1794.31 crore yesterday, 12 August 2015, higher than net outflow of Rs 631.08 crore on Tuesday, 11 August 2015.
There was a net outflow of Rs 1794.31 crore from the equity market on 12 August 2015, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3776.25 crore and gross sales of Rs 5570.56 crore. There was a net outflow of Rs 1794.27 crore from the secondary equity market on 12 August 2015, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3776.25 crore and gross sales of Rs 5570.52 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex had lost 353.83 points or 1.27% to settle at 27,512.26 on that day, its lowest closing level since 28 July 2015.
There was an outflow of Rs 0.04 crore from the category 'primary markets & others' on 12 August 2015.
FPIs have sold shares worth a net Rs 684.03 crore in August 2015 so far (till 12 August 2015). They have sold shares worth a net Rs 807.71 crore into the secondary equity markets in August 2015 so far (till 12 August 2015). FPIs had bought shares worth a net Rs 5318.99 crore last month.
