Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 727.01 crore on Wednesday, 5 August 2015, as against their inflow of Rs 335.11 crore during the preceding trading session on Tuesday, 4 August 2015.
There was a net inflow of Rs 727.01 crore into the equity market on 5 August 2015, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4708.10 crore and gross sales of Rs 3981.09 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 728.63 crore into the secondary equity market on 5 August 2015, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4706.51 crore and gross sales of Rs 3977.88 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex rose 151.15 points or 0.54% to settle at 28,223.08 on that day, its highest closing level since 23 July 2015.
There was a net outflow of Rs 1.62 crore from the in the category 'primary markets & others' on 5 August 2015, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 1.59 crore and gross sales of Rs 3.21 crore.
