Mutual funds step up selling

Net outflow of Rs 128.20 crore on 20 March 2015

Mutual funds sold shares worth a net Rs 128.20 crore on Friday, 20 March 2015, compared with inflow of Rs 179.20 crore during the preceding trading session on 19 March 2015. 

The net outflow of Rs 128.20 crore on 20 March 2015 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 734.40 crore and gross sales of Rs 862.50 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex fell 208.59 points or 0.73% to settle at 28,261.08, its lowest closing level since 9 February 2015. 

Mutual funds have bought shares worth a net Rs 2222.30 crore in this month so far (till 20 March 2015). They had bought shares worth Rs 4309.20 crore last month.
