Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 410.42 crore on Friday, 20 March 2015, compared with inflow of Rs 1488.46 crore during the preceding trading session on 19 March 2015.
The net inflow of Rs 410.42 crore on 20 March 2015 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 7566.46 crore and gross sales of Rs 7156.04 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 416.25 crore into the secondary equity market on 20 March 2015, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 7566.46 crore and gross sales of Rs 7150.21 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex had fallen 208.59 points or 0.73% to settle at 28,261.08 on that day, its lowest closing level since 9 February 2015.
There was an outflow of Rs 5.83 crore from the category 'primary market & others' on 20 March 2015.
