Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 763.64 crore yesterday, 24 March 2015, higher than inflow of Rs 508.45 crore during the preceding trading session on 23 March 2015.
The net inflow of Rs 763.64 crore on 24 March 2015 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4652.18 crore and gross sales of Rs 3888.54 crore. The entire net inflow of Rs 763.64 crore pertains to secondary equity market transactions. The S&P BSE Sensex had fallen 30.30 points or 0.11% to settle at 28,161.72 on that day, its lowest closing level since 16 January 2015.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 11613.65 crore in this month so far (till 24 March 2015). They have bought shares worth a net Rs 9858.98 crore from the secondary equity markets in this month so far (till 23 March 2015). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 11475.53 crore last month. They had bought shares worth a net Rs 5922.37 crore from the secondary markets last month.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 36008.50 crore in calendar year 2015 so far (till 24 March 2015). They have bought shares worth a net Rs 28467.80 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2015 so far (till 24 March 2015). FPIs had bought shares worth a net Rs 97055.90 crore in the calendar year 2014. They had bought shares worth a net Rs 84440.80 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2014.
