Mutual funds bought shares worth a net Rs 6 crore yesterday, 9 March 2015, which was much lower than inflow of Rs 214.90 crore during the preceding trading session on 5 March 2015. The stock market was closed on Friday, 6 March 2015, on account of Holi.
The net inflow of Rs 6 crore on 9 March 2015 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 802.60 crore and gross sales of Rs 796.60 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex had plunged 604.17 points or 2.05% to settle at 28,844.78 on that day, its lowest closing level since 26 February 2015.
Mutual funds have bought shares worth a net Rs 1209.30 crore in this month so far (till 9 March 2015). They had bought shares worth Rs 4309.20 crore last month.
