Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 130.83 crore on Friday, 13 March 2015, compared with inflow of Rs 889.38 crore during the preceding trading session on 12 March 2015.
The net inflow of Rs 130.83 crore on 13 March 2015 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4844.23 crore and gross sales of Rs 4713.40 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 127.43 crore into the secondary equity market on 13 March 2015, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4833.27 crore and gross sales of Rs 4705.84 crore. On that day, the S&P BSE Sensex declined 427.11 points or 1.48% to settle at 28,503.30, its lowest closing level since 10 February 2015.
There was a net inflow of Rs 3.40 crore into the category 'primary market & others' on 13 March 2015, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 10.96 crore and gross sales of Rs 7.56 crore.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 9269.57 crore in this month so far (till 13 March 2015). They have bought shares worth a net Rs 7674.06 crore from the secondary equity markets in this month so far (till 13 March 2015). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 11475.53 crore last month. They had bought shares worth a net Rs 5922.37 crore from the secondary markets last month.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 33664.30 crore in calendar year 2015 so far (till 13 March 2015). They have bought shares worth a net Rs 26282.80 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2015 so far (till 13 March 2015). FPIs had bought shares worth a net Rs 97055.90 crore in the calendar year 2014. They had bought shares worth a net Rs 84440.80 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2014.
