Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 262.10 crore on Monday, 14 September 2009, lower than Rs 330.60 crore on Friday, 11 September 2009.
FII inflow of Rs 262.10 crore on 14 September 2009 was a results of gross purchases Rs 1863.10 crore and gross sales Rs 1601 crore. The BSE Sensex fell 50.11 points or 0.31% to 16,214.19 on that day.
FII inflow in September 2009 totaled Rs 2,764.80 crore (till 14 September 2009). Foreign funds had bought equities worth Rs 4028.80 crore in August 2009. FII inflow in calendar year 2009 totaled Rs 42,962.70 crore (till 14 September 2009).
There are a total of 1695 foreign funds registered with the Securities & Exchange Board of India (Sebi).
