Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought stocks worth a net Rs 319.58 crore on 12 October 2015, lower than net inflow of Rs 486.78 crore on 9 October 2015.
The net inflow of Rs 319.58 crore from the secondary equity markets on 12 October 2015 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 2779.37 crore and gross sales of Rs 2459.79 crore. The barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, dropped 175.40 points or 0.65% to settle at 26,904.11.
There was a net inflow of Rs 0.09 crore from the category 'primary markets & others' on 12 October 2015, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 0.09 crore and gross sales of Rs nil crore.
FPIs have bought stocks worth a net Rs 2436.49 crore in this month so far (till 12 October 2015). They sold shares worth a net Rs 11087.28 crore into the secondary equity markets last month.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 2717.82 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2015 so far (till 12 October 2015). They bought shares worth a net Rs 84440.80 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2014.
The outflow of FPIs from the category 'primary markets & others' has totaled Rs 21.09 crore in this month so far (till 12 October 2015). This compares with net inflow of Rs 4612.13 crore into this category in September 2015.
The inflow of FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' has totaled Rs 20744.78 crore in calendar year 2015 so far (till 12 October 2015). The inflow of FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' stood at Rs 12615 crore in the calendar year 2014.
