Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought shares worth net Rs 295.70 crore yesterday, 7 July 2015, compared with their purchases of Rs 2933.87 crore during the preceding trading session on 3 July 2015.
The net inflow of Rs 295.70 crore on 7 July 2015 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3897.75 crore and gross sales of Rs 3602.05 crore. There was net inflow of Rs 143.07 crore into the secondary equity markets on 7 July 2015, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3745.12 crore and gross sales of Rs 3602.05 crore. The barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, had lost 37.07 points or 0.13% to settle at 28,171.69 on that day, its lowest closing level since 3 July 2015.
There was a net inflow of Rs 152.63 crore into the category 'primary market & others' on 7 July 2015.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 3757.09 crore in this month so far (till 7 July 2015). They have bought shares worth a net Rs 875.92 crore from the secondary equity markets in this month so far (till 7 July 2015). FPIs sold shares worth a net Rs 3344.44 crore last month. They had sold shares worth a net Rs 4634.53 crore into the secondary equity markets last month.
