Mutual funds turn sellers

Net sales of Rs 6 crore on 12 May 2015

Mutual funds sold shares worth Rs 6 crore on Tuesday, 12 May 2015, compared with their purchases of Rs 207.70 crore during the preceding trading session on Monday, 11 May 2015. 

The net outflow of Rs 6 crore on 12 May 2015 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 803.80 crore and gross sales of Rs 809.80 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex slumped 629.82 points or 2.29% to settle at 26,877.48, its lowest closing level since 7 May 2015. 

Mutual funds have purchased shares worth a net Rs 1774.60 crore in this month so far (till 12 May 2015). They had bought shares worth a net Rs 9243.90 crore last month.
