Mutual funds on a buying spree

Net purchases of Rs 320 crore on 21 May 2015

Mutual funds bought shares worth Rs 320 crore yesterday, 21 May 2015, compared with their net inflow of Rs 169.90 crore during the preceding trading session on Wednesday, 20 May 2015. 

The net inflow of Rs 320 crore on 21 May 2015 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 1025.10 crore and gross sales of Rs 705.20 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex fell 27.86 points or 0.1% to settle at 27,809.35, its lowest closing level since 19 May 2015. 

Mutual funds have purchased shares worth a net Rs 3010.10 crore in this month so far (till 21 May 2015). They had bought shares worth a net Rs 9243.90 crore last month.
