Mutual funds step up buying

Net purchases of Rs 295.20 crore on 15 May 2015

Mutual funds bought shares worth Rs 295.20 crore on Friday, 15 May 2015, compared with their net inflow of Rs 60.20 crore during the preceding trading session on Thursday, 14 May 2015. 

The net inflow of Rs 295.20 crore on 15 May 2015 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 977.70 crore and gross sales of Rs 682.50 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex rose 117.94 points or 0.43% to settle at 27,324 on that day, its highest closing since 11 May 2015 

Mutual funds have purchased shares worth a net Rs 2331.10 crore in this month so far (till 15 May 2015). They had bought shares worth a net Rs 9243.90 crore last month.
