Mutual funds continue buying of equities

Net purchases of Rs 474.30 crore on 8 May 2015

Mutual funds bought shares worth Rs 474.30 crore on Friday, 8 May 2015, which was lower than their purchases of Rs 539.90 crore during the preceding trading session on 7 May 2015. 

The net inflow of Rs 474.30 crore on 8 May 2015 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 1363 crore and gross sales of Rs 888.70 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex rose 506.28 points or 1.9% to settle at 27,105.39, its highest closing level since 5 May 2015. 

Mutual funds have purchased shares worth a net Rs 1572.90 crore in this month so far (till 8 May 2015). They had bought shares worth a net Rs 9243.90 crore last month.
