Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold shares worth a net Rs 3018.18 crore during the preceding two trading sessions on Thursday, 30 April 2015, and Monday, 4 May 2015, as per data from Central Depository Services (India). The stock market was closed for a holiday on Friday, 1 May 2015. The combined data for the preceding two trading sessions was unveiled by the depositories today, 5 May 2015, due to a bank holiday yesterday, 4 May 2015.
There was a net outflow of Rs 3059.74 crore from the secondary equity market during the preceding two trading sessions on 30 April 2015 and 4 May 2015 on a combined basis, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 12819.99 crore and gross sales of Rs 15879.73 crore.
There was net inflow of Rs 41.56 crore into the category 'primary market & others' during the preceding two trading sessions on 30 April 2015 and 4 May 2015 on a combined basis, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 120.60 crore and gross sales of Rs 79.04 crore.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 45175.37 crore in calendar year 2015 so far (till 4 April 2015). They have bought shares worth a net Rs 37070.02 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2015 so far (till 4 May 2015). FPIs had bought shares worth a net Rs 97055.90 crore in the calendar year 2014. They had bought shares worth a net Rs 84440.80 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2014.
