Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 751.17 crore during the previous trading session yesterday, 23 February 2015, higher than inflow of Rs 26.15 crore on Friday, 20 February 2015.
The net inflow of Rs 751.17 crore on 23 February 2015 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4804.31 crore and gross sales of Rs 4053.14 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 745.61 crore into the secondary equity market on 23 February 2015, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4798.75 crore and gross sales of Rs 4053.14.60 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex had fallen 256.30 points or 0.88% to settle at 28,975.11 on that day, its lowest closing level since 12 February 2015.
There was an inflow of Rs 5.56 crore into the category 'primary market & others' on 23 February 2015.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 7627.05 crore in this month so far (till 23 February 2015).
