Mutual funds bought shares worth a net Rs 395.50 crore yesterday, 16 December 2014, which was higher than their purchases of Rs 317 crore during the preceding trading session on 15 December 2014.
The net inflow of Rs 395.50 crore on 16 December 2014 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 1178.30 crore and gross sales of Rs 782.70 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex had tanked 538.12 points or 1.97% to settle at 26,781.44 on that day, its lowest closing level since 27 October 2014.
Mutual funds have bought shares worth Rs 3173.10 crore in this month so far (till 16 December 2014). Mutual funds had bought shares worth Rs 1676.90 crore in November 2014.
