Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 409.09 crore on Wednesday, 3 December 2014, higher than inflow of Rs 131.04 crore on Tuesday, 2 December 2014.
The net inflow of Rs 409.09 crore on 3 December 2014 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4763.79 crore and gross sales of Rs 4354.70 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 417.17 crore into the secondary equity market on 3 December 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4758.95 crore and gross sales of Rs 4341.78 crore. The Sensex had lost 1.30 points to settle at 28,442.71 on that day, its lowest closing level since 27 November 2014.
There was a net outflow of Rs 8.08 crore from the category 'primary market & others' on 3 December 2014 which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4.84 crore and gross sales of Rs 12.92 crore.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 3393.75 crore so far this month (till 3 December 2014). They have bought shares worth a net Rs 1599.21 crore from the secondary markets so far this month (till 3 December 2014). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 13753.29 crore last month. They purchased bought shares worth a net Rs 12677.10 crore from the secondary markets last month.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 99413.30 crore in this calendar year so far (till 3 December 2014). They have bought shares worth a net Rs 87747.40 crore from the secondary equity markets in this year so far (till 3 December 2014).
