Private & Public Sector MFs Witness net outflow in June 2010

Net Outflows at Rs 119449.06 crore in June 

Private & Public Sector Mutual Funds (MF) have witnessed net outflows in June 2010 following the month of May 10. The net outflow of the industry was recorded at Rs 119449.06 crore in June compared with net outflow of Rs 62959.56 crore in May. The mobilisation of funds in the industry has declined by 16.94% in June 2010 compared with May 2010. However, the redemptions/repurchases in the industry had fallen 9.03% in June 2010.
The MFs mobilisation of fund declined by Rs 133193.52 crore to Rs 652875.73 crore in June from Rs 786069.25 crore in May. 

Private sector MFs' collection declined 22.31% to Rs 483015.41 crore in June from Rs 621740.38 crore in May. UTI MF collections dipped 17.57% to Rs 55663.06 crore, while others public sector MFs' mobilisation increased by 17.97% to Rs 114197.26 crore in June. On the whole, public sector MFs mobilisation increased 3.37% to Rs 169860.32 crore in June, compared with the mobilisation of Rs 164328.87 crore in May.

The repurchase/redemption amount of the industry dipped 9.03% to Rs 772324.79 crore in June from Rs 849028.80 crore in May. The industry recorded a net outflow of Rs 119449.06 crore in June compared with a net outflow of Rs 62959.56 crore in May. 

The repurchase/redemption amount of private sector MFs declined by 14.73% to Rs 573343.01 crore in June from Rs 672374.60 crore in May. Net outflow of private sector MFs was Rs 90327.60 crore in June which is higher than net outflow of Rs 50634.22 crore in May.
UTI MF has witnessed repurchase/redemption amount of Rs 71172.26 crore, while other public sector MFs was at Rs 127809.53 crore. The repurchase/redemption amount of public sector MFs increased by 12.64% to Rs 198981.79 crore in June over Rs 176654.20 crore in May. UTI MF recorded net outflow of Rs 15509.20 crore and other public sector MFs had net outflow of Rs 13612.26 crore in June. Overall the net outflow of public sector MFs was at Rs 29121.47 crore in June compared with net outflow of Rs 12325.34 crore in May. 

Public and Private sector MF in April - June 2010 

The net asset of the industry declined to Rs 630,184.64 crore in April - June 2010 period. Moreover, the net assets of Fund of Funds schemes were recorded at Rs 1812.41 crore in April - June 2010. 

Net asset size of private sector mutual funds was at Rs 503,674.68 crore, a share of 79.92% in the total net asset size of the industry in April- June 2010.

Public sector mutual funds contributed about 20.08% to total net assets of the MF industry in April - June 2010. Net assets of the public sector mutual funds were at Rs 126,509.96 crore in April - June 2010. Net asset size of UTI MF was worth Rs 58,457.73 crore, contributing 9.28% to total mutual fund assets in April - June 2010. Other public sector MFs contributed 10.80% with assets of Rs 68,052.23crore during the same period. 

The fund mobilisation recorded at Rs 2,527,136.64 crore, of which Private sector MF collection has been registered at Rs 1,940,395.90 crore. 

UTI MF collected Rs 216,033.51 crore, and others public sector MFs mobilised Rs 370,707.23 crore. The public sector MF collectively gathered Rs 586,740.74 crore in April - June 2010.

The repurchase/redemption amount of the industry was recorded at Rs 2,523,589.84 crore. The industry had a net inflow of Rs 3,546.80 crore in April - June 2010. 

The repurchase/redemption amount of private sector MFs was recorded at Rs 1,926,286.64 crore. Net inflow in private sector MF stood at Rs 14,109.26 crore in April - June 2010. 

UTI MF had witnessed a repurchase/redemption of Rs 224,380.72 crore, while other public sector MFs repurchase/redemption amount was at Rs 372,922.48 crore. UTI fund house recorded an outflow of Rs 8,347.21 crore and other public sector MFs had an outflow of Rs 2,215.25 crore in April - June 2010. Overall public sector MFs had net outflow of Rs 10,562.46 crore in April - June 2010.
