Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold shares worth a net Rs 71.13 crore on Tuesday, 28 October 2014 compared with net inflow of Rs 64.96 crore on Monday, 27 October 2014.
The net outflow of Rs 71.13 crore on 28 October 2014 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3708.92 crore and gross sales of Rs 3780.05 crore. There was a net outflow of Rs 67.17 crore into the secondary equity market on 28 October 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3708.92 crore and gross sales of Rs 3776.09 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex jumped 127.92 points or 0.48% to settle at 26,880.82, its highest closing level since 22 September 2014.
FPIs have sold shares worth a net Rs 3376.91 crore in this month so far (till 28 October 2014). They have sold shares worth a net Rs 4257.25 crore from the secondary markets in this month so far (till 27 October 2014). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 5102.52 crore in September 2014. They bought shares worth a net Rs 4137.79 crore from the secondary equity markets in that month.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 80060.80 crore in this calendar year so far (till 28 October 2014). They have bought shares worth a net Rs 71224.70 crore from the secondary equity markets in this year so far.
