The WPI of primary articles for the week ended
The index for 'Food Articles' group rose by 0.3 %to 287.3 from 286.5 for the previous week due to higher prices of pork and fruits & vegetables (2% each) and fish-marine, condiments & spices and bajra (1% each). However, the prices of eggs (5%), arhar and tea (3% each), urad and gram (2% each) and fish-inland, masur and barley (1% each) declined.
The index for 'Non-Food Articles' group declined by 0.5 %to 255.6 from 256.8 for the previous week due to lower prices of skins (raw) (4%), raw rubber (3%), raw cotton (2%) and linseed and mesta (1% each). However, the prices of raw silk, copra and groundnut seed (1% each) moved up.
The WPI index of fuel and power group rose by 1.2 %to 355.4 from 351.2 for the previous week due to higher prices of non-coking coal (15%), coking coal (11%).
