Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold shares worth a net Rs 311.17 crore into the secondary equity market on Wednesday, 16 September 2015. This compares with their selling of stocks totaling Rs 871.43 crore during the preceding trading session on 15 September 2015.
The net outflow of Rs 311.17 crore on 16 September 2015 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3808.99 crore and gross sales of Rs 4120.16 crore. The barometer index, the S&P Sensex, rose 258.04 points or 1% to settle at 25,963.97.
There was an inflow of Rs 97.15 crore into FPIs from the category 'primary markets & others' on 16 September 2015.
